Hi Dave.
Basically am selling my chev ute. and have found this 52. after looking at the net last night for some time, I found some nice accessaries. and was enquiring about purchasing in the future…….if I get this sedan. I did find stuff on eBay. but with paypal charges etc the fuel cover protector was dear. so may be looking for second hand stuff.
as I say im not sure on the purchase yet . as it needs a lot of cosmetic work, and brakes. also couple of things missing in eng.
but a very solid car overall.
cheers Tim.

This is Richard’s 1952 Pontiac. He says it runs like a dream and only has 32,000 original miles!

I bought the car a week ago for $5250, which isn’t bad for what it is. Currently it still has the original straight 8 and hydra-matic with 57,000 orig miles. The interior is all there, just needs to be redone. The dash is beautiful and everything works. As you can see from the pics the chrome is in excellent shape, I just need to rechrome the grill and a few small items to make it perfect. I haven’t been able to find pics of any ‘52 pontiacs that have all the chrome options that this car has. I’m sure they are out there, but I haven’t found any as of yet, which makes me even happier. The more unique the better.
Thanks for the site, I would’ve never thought I’d find a site devoted to these cars. Great idea!!!
Thanks, Rusty

Hi Dave,
Here’s mine…..I’ve had it for 4 weeks. These are truely beuatiful cars.
I’m currently stripping it down. I yanked the straight 8 and 3 speed trans. The engine isn’t running but turns over. Its been sitting since 68.

This is Jeff’s 1951 Pontiac Chieftain – From Ohio.
“THE BEFORE PICS”

Here are the after/current pictures.

I picked up my 51 chieftain in Aug of 07. It came home on a trailer, with the brake pedal stuck on the floor. the stright 8 ran but not well. At first I was going to gut it out and turn it in to a hot rod. After looking the car over a little better after i got it home, and findind out most of the car was still intacked. I just wanted to see it running down the road as is was. After e-baying my brains out, and many hours of work I had it running by Oct and took her to a local car meet just before Hollowen.

I am going to try my best to describe along with the images what was done at the point it was taken. For some reason
I didn’t take pictures of the actual work being done, never thought to? But I did take pictures of the finished work.
My car has NO bondo at all in it filling any holes. A little was used to cover over light pitting and to smooth welds, but other
than that it’s ALL METAL
And the story starts:
I found this car listed in the local trading paper listed as a 1953 Pontiac. I called and decided to check it out.
Once I pulled into the lady’s driveway, dad wanted to leave right then because what he saw is what you see in the first picture.
It looked rougher than it actually was though, I convinced him that I was doing the work and he wasn’t so I looked at it and knew
from first glance it WASN’T a ‘53, but rather a 52 because of the body style and split windshield which changed in 1953 to a solid wind
shield and a body style similar to the 53 Chevy.
I bought the car as seen, it had no wheels on the front, the drums were buried 4″ in the ground. Most chrome was there, but missing pieces
were the 2 strips for the drivers side door, rocker stainless, hand strap for the back seat, and the sending unit for the gas tank, the person
threw away… gas tank was really rusty. The back of the car was blocked up with jack stands. It was a project alone to just get the car out
of there.

This is what the car looked like the day I bought it.

I took the rims that were laying beside it in the first picture home
and mounted some tires and went back and dug the car out of the dirt and
put them on it.

Here’s a back shot

There was a lot of junk in the interior of the car.

This is the original 268 Straight eight, and still has the Hydromatic transmission.

Hello Dave,
Thanks for creating your website. I was very interesting to find an old Pontiac website. My Son Matt & I recently purchased this car in Ontario, Canada for $2800.00 CDN. She runs & drives excellent. She is “all original” with a straight 8 with a power automatic. The most work we are required to do is the brakes & exhaust tail pipe. This car was restored about 20+ years ago and sat in storage since. We need to re-seat both windshields, and we can’t wait to get her on the road. The interior is vintage 52 and I’m told therec is a company in Pennsylvania that provides new kits. The fun has only just begun. Thanks again and we will continue to maintain contact with your site.
Take Care,
Mike & Matt
